SEDUCTIVE MECHANICAL FEATURES

The brand is expanding its PRX collection with a trio of watches powered by an automatic caliber. The aesthetics remain firmly anchored in the 70’s and the price is consistently attractive.

After the PRX 40 205 quartz reference, unveiled at the very beginning of the year with lines inspired by the 1978 Seastar, Tissot presents the PRX Powermatic 80; a new development equipped with a mechanical self-winding caliber. Nevertheless, these two models share common attributes such as their casing. The acronym PRX is a reminder of their relationship. PR stands for “Precise and Robust”, while the Roman numeral X indicates the depth to which the watch is waterproof, in this case 100m. This characteristic is repeated in the case of the new reference in steel, 40mm in diameter, with polished and satin finishes. It now shields a dial structured with a checkerboard pattern. This design is available in a choice of three colors: black, blue, and silver. This last variant stands out by the presence of hands, a bezel, indexes, and a date window at 3 o’clock treated with pink PVD.

Equipped with a 3hz frequency, it delivers a generous power reserve of over 3 days or 80 hours. This contemporary mechanism is also equipped with a Nivachron balance spring that is insensitive to the negative effects of magnetic fields. The presence of a sapphire case back offers the possibility of discovering certain components, notably the oscillating weight.

To accentuate its sporty-chic look, the Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 is worn on a supple satin-finished steel bracelet closed with a triple-blade folding clasp.
