FLASHBACK TO THE 80S
Among the 2021 references showcased by the brand from Le Locle, the PRX collection stands out with its charming style, its performances and its highly-attractive pricetag. A winning combination!
Two-tone watches that were ever-so trendy in the 1980s are now the can’t-do-without accessory for setting off resolutely unabashed clothing looks. The vintage-focused period we’re enjoying right now is a super opportunity for wearing this type of highly-attractive timepiece once again. With the PRX Powermatic 80 Rose Gold PVD, Tissot addresses this demand and adds a touch of up-to-the-minute soul. The 40 mm-diameter, satin-brushed steel case reiterates the shape of the original model created back in 1978. This time round, it embraces an embossed chequered pattern dial with gilded hour and minute hands that hover over indexes featuring the same finish. All these elements are coated with luminescent material gifting the watch with great readability in the dark. The frame of the date aperture, as well as the direct-drive and the bezel that encircles this composition are also topped with rose gold PVD.
The initials PR which make up the watch’s name stress the fact that this model is “Precise and Robust”. The Powermatic 80 caliber plays its part flawlessly. This selfwinding movement, equipped with a Nivachron balance-spring, immune to the negative effects of magnetic fields, delivers a power reserve of over 3 days. What’s more, the X reminds us that the tonneau-shaped case is waterproof-guaranteed to 10 bars, i.e. depths of 100 meters.
And, to enhance its sporty-chic personality even more, this PRX version is complemented by a flexible link bracelet fashioned in the same metal as the case, attached by a folding clasp.
