THE RACE FOR DNA
To celebrate the 74th edition of one of Europe’s most prestigious motorsport endurance races, the rebellious watchmaker unveiled a timepiece totally in tune with the event.
Following in the footsteps of the Twenty-One GMT and Wraith Chronograph GTWC limited series, Rebellion launched its RE-Volt Skeletonized GTWC model during the 24 Hours of Spa in Belgium, held from July 29 to August 1st this year. The Swiss brand, official timekeeper for this legendary race and partner of the organizer GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS, inspirits this novel red-and-black dressed variation with its passion for motor racing. Like the other references in the collection, this watch’s skeletonized caliber is hovered over by a pair of hour and minute hands coated with luminescent material. The anti-reflective sapphire crystal either side of the case invites light to circulate freely. All the components of this layered mechanical architecture are perfectly centre staged and, at the same time, set off the watch’s one-of-a-kind style. The ensemble is protected by the rectangular case (40.35 x 38.5 x 13.5 mm) crafted in forged carbon. This case features random marbling designs. As such, each piece is different from the others.
This series is driven by the in-house developed caliber assembled using 165 components. The hand-wound movement, set at a frequency of 28,000 vibrations an hour, (4 Hz), delivers a power reserve of at least 48 hours.
Like all Rebellion watches, the RE-Volt Skeletonized GTWC is complemented by a sturdy yet comfortable black vulcanized rubber strap attached by a folding clasp.
