LOVE FOREVER AND EVER
With poetry and elegance, Breguet transcribed onto the oval face of the queen of watches its horological interpretation of the most wonderful of feelings, the one that gives wings and hope: love.
Eyes that peek shyly, hands with intertwined fingers, a quivering body, a heart that leaps with such force and passion in the chest that it seems ready to explode, to carry everything away in its whirlwind of emotion. How to depict love? A few days before Valentine’s Day, Breguet proposes to inscribe love in time and time in love with the Reine de Naples 8905.
True to the aesthetic codes that govern the collection, this limited edition of 28 pieces has an oval white gold case (36.5×28.45mm) with a middle marked with fine fluting. A delicate band of diamonds lines the flange, echoing the stones on the bezel, and the crown is topped with a ruby. This precious case houses the caliber 537DRL2, a self-winding movement clocked at 3.5hz that delivers 45 hours of power reserve when fully wound.
For Breguet, the face of love takes the form of a white mother-of-pearl disc, decorated with a “cloud” effect and hand-engraved, on which love flies in a cloud of garnets. Culminating at 12 o’clock, a long blue hand flies over these carmine dots to indicate the remaining energy and sweeps across a moon phase on which the night star, made of hammered white gold, shines against a starry sky. Off-centered at 6 o’clock, two Breguet hands with hollowed out apples point to the Roman numerals of the hours and a dotted minute track. Placed at around 7 o’clock on a disc with an undulating pattern like the shell of a nautilus, a double red varnished heart marks the seconds. Much more romantic than a traditional second hand!
