REINE DE NAPLES 9915 Breguet

DRAW ME A HEART

The most feminine timepiece on the watchmaking landscape invites love to express itself, in the form of an embrace of glowing precious stones, on its delicately iridescent oval face embraced by ribbons of diamonds.

The first timepiece in watchmaking history developed for the wrist by a man, Abraham-Louis Breguet (1747-1827), at the request of a woman, Caroline Murat née Bonaparte (1782-1839), in the 18th century, was the inspiration for the creation, many years later, of the Reine de Naples collection. Each year, Breguet, the contemporary manufacture, pays tribute to the intellectual emotion that united the watchmaker to the monarch by producing a limited edition of the most feminine watch that invites the feeling of love to express itself on her face. The Reine de Naples 9915 is no exception, inscribing a heart entwined with reddish glowing gemstones at the bottom of its delicately iridescent dial.

Retracing the oval silhouette of the white gold case (36.5 x 28.45mm) punctuated by a gem-set clasp, two ribbons of diamonds embrace the white pearl mother-of-pearl surface on which the applied hour-markers and Breguet-style Arabic numeral 12 radiate. Beneath the small blued steel hands with hollowed knobs, also Breguet, for the hours and minutes off-centered at 6 o’clock, an interlacement of rubies and pink sapphires form a precious heart whose deliberately elongated ends join the brilliants on the flange. As a passionate reminder, the crown at 4 o’clock houses a cabochon ruby. This Reine de Naples 9915, extended by two strands of carmine alligator leather, is powered by caliber 517/3, a movement with automatic winding via a guilloché platinum oscillating weight, fueling a power reserve of around 45 hours through a single barrel.
