ENCHANTING EMERALD GREEN
The “Grande Maison” draws on the natural environment that curves around its manufacture in the heart of the Vallée de Joux to imagine a green and vibrant version of its most feminine creation.
Nature’s annual rendezvous will soon take place, and in a few weeks, the landscapes will take off their gray coats, the snow carpets will melt and the fauna will stretch out in a long yawn to gently plunge into the mating season after this winter break. In the heart of the Vallée de Joux, within the walls of the Jaeger-LeCoultre manufacture, this reconnection with the environment is called Rendez-Vous Dazzling Night & Day Green, an exceptional timepiece as green as the Jura hills and as bright as a summer sun.
The Rendez-Vous collection is relatively recent but now a must-have, embodying the modern expression of women’s watchmaking: a refinement of rare beauty coupled with a sometimes complex and resolutely impeccable mechanism. This new opus with its plant-like dress is no exception to the rule, with its face coated in a beautiful emerald green whose soleillé finish catches the light to better play with the nuances. The light is largely delivered by the diamonds of different diameters that are concentrically placed on the bezel and in a ring in the center of the dial. The latter, a thin shiny belt, underlines the hour circle composed of Arabic numerals in golden appliques. Two hands display the hours and minutes, while at 6 o’clock, a day/night indicator scrolls in regular cycles a crescent moon accompanied by stars in relief on a constellated background, followed by a round sun. These functions are driven by the self-winding Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 898 (38-hour power reserve) housed in a 36mm-diameter pink gold case.
