LUXURY AND SENSUALITY
Two timepieces, center staging masterful stone-setting, offer ladies on a quest for absolute elegance the opportunity to adorn a flamboyant touch of eternity.
“Diamonds are a girl’s best friend”. The well-known comment which Marilyn Monroe whispered in the 1949 movie Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, directed by the American filmmaker Howard Hawks, appears to be still relevant. Yet such a fierce yarning for glamor is today rather more nuanced. This year, it is showcased under the guise of two exceptional pieces: the RM 07-01 and RM 037 Snow Setting watches. Fine jewelry makes a date once again with fine watchmaking in the highly-creative world of Richard Mille. The brand’s most feminine watches adorn a luminous robe fashioned in white gold and diamonds. Their totally-paved bezel and dial dazzle like a thousand stars. To obtain the sensual effect, the expert hands of master craftspeople in Les Breuleux workshops used the intricate snow-setting technique. The precious stones nestle harmoniously together, side by side, regardless of their size which varies from 0.5 to 1.6 mm, and cover over 90% of the watch surface.
The elongated tonneau-shaped cases respectively host the CRMA2 and CRMA1 calibers. These selfwinding, skeletonized in-house movements accurately animate the gracious ballet of the hour and minute hands. Both deliver a power reserve of around 50 hours.
To ensure pure uncompromising visual harmony, the flexible chain-style bracelets of the RM 07-01 and RM 037 Snow Setting are also cloaked with a delicate paving of sparkling gems.
