LAGOON MOOD
With this new 50-piece limited edition, the independent brand rolls out an awe-inspiring colorful iteration. Fine watchmaking can also be full of fun!
Aerodyne. The word refers to any heavier-than-air flying machine capable of generating a dynamic force to balance its weight. Richard Mille successfully solves this mechanical equation using a holistic approach when designing a watch. Caliber and case are imagined at the same time to endow the timepiece with exceptional stiffness. What’s more, the choice of state-of-the-art material also plays its part in ensuring a top-quality result. And, the RM 21-02 Tourbillon Aerodyne blue illustrates this wonderfully well. The combination of HAYNES® 214®, a nickel, chromium, aluminum iron alloy with Carbon TPT® to fashion the honeycombed baseplate boosts the resistance of the openworked architecture.
For this glamorous version, the case blends Caribbean blue-hued Quartz TPT® with Carbon TPT® and titanium. This choice emphasizes the timepiece’s sporty personality and, at the same time, improves its sturdiness. In a nutshell, it protects the time data scenography amazingly well, which showcases the tourbillon and barrel of the manual-winding movement along a vertical axis of symmetry. The torque indicator and the power reserve one (70 hours) are also center staged. Thanks to these tools, chronometry is optimized. The crown-integrated function selector lets the wearer choose their mode, winding, neutral, time-setting, meaning there’s no interference with the caliber. Once again, quality is revealed through the tiniest detail.
