Roberto Mancini, soccer coach and manager of the Italian National Team, and Richard Mille have forged a close friendship. They have many points in common, but the one that stands out most, because they excel in the field, is no doubt their exceptional time management. In 2013, the RM 11-01 brought an answer to a problem that comes up during soccer matches – the need to know how much time is left at all times. The watch’s dial indicated playing time based on 45-minute halftimes and up to 15 minutes of overtime.
While the RM11-04 Automatic Winding Flyback Chronograph Roberto Mancini unveiled at the end of this year has kept all the RM 11-01’s assets, it is also a concentrate of the latest technical innovations obtained using high-tech materials and benefits from the brand’s new stylistic codes. The case is now in machined carbon TPT®, whereas the previous model was in titanium. Color is also everywhere. The blue on the rehaut, the crown and the rubber bracelet reflects the blue of the Squadra Azzurra’s jerseys.
The caliber RMAC3, replacing the RMAC1, powers the functions and complications for approximately 55 hours once wound. This skeletonized automatic winding movement drives the hour, minute and second hands. It also orchestrates the display of an oversize date and the months. Its flyback chronograph helps in tracking short times and match halftimes with a central minute counter.
