FASCINATING CREATURE
Brilliant transformation! This daring new partnership turns the iconic Serpenti into an extraordinary Horological Machine. The result leaves us flabbergasted.

With the LM FlyingT Allegra watch showcased back in 2021, MB&F and Bvlgari proved to us that different worlds could also be complementary. This year, the same synergy breathes life into a piece boasting disruptive design and technical flair: the Bvlgari x MB&F Serpenti.

The Rome-based brand’s flagship model offered an excellent starting point for unbridled creative energy to reign. A 53 x 39 x 18 mm elongated case, available in grade 5 titanium, black PVD steel, and 18-karat rose gold was imagined. Each iteration is rolled out in a limited edition of just 33 pieces. “As MB&F is specialized in kinetic sculptures that tell the time, this collaboration is totally in line with our vocation”, emphasizes Maximilian Büsser, founder of the Genevan brand. “Nevertheless, the biomorphic design of this watch created enormous challenges… Using 5-axis 3D mills to create the curvaceous case was one thing, but getting the five sapphire crystals to fit snuggly over the curves to ensure the 30 m water-resistance was quite another”.
Two aluminum domes, topped with Super-LumiNova®, inspired by the ones featured in the Horological Machine N°3, display the hours and minutes. A caliber created using some 310 components powers the time data features for around 45 hours. This manual-wind movement unveils some of its structure via the host of sapphire crystals adorning the case, in particular the oversized 14 mm-diameter, signature flying balance wheel. Undeniably captivating.
