The watchmaker from Saint-Imier unveils three new models inspired by the history of aviation in a universal diameter, designed for both men and women, and displaying the essentials of time in… timeless colors!
Strongly rooted in the spirit of the times, Longines is following three trends – the return to “reasonable” dimensions, the universality of diameters and the famous “less is more” through a refined design – to create its own: Spirit. While the collection, inspired by the close link between the Saint-Imier watchmaker and the history of aviation, offers pieces with an aesthetic borrowed from old pilots’ watches, it now includes three new models that are as unisex as they are timeless, with their champagne, sunny blue and matte black faces. These sturdy models, with a diameter of 37mm and a height of 11.70mm, will look good on any wrist, male or female, and are precious objects to be passed on from generation to generation.
With its well thought-out ergonomics, the steel case punctuated by a fluted crown offers absolute comfort against the skin, whether it is worn with a link bracelet or a leather strap. It is equipped with the L888.5 caliber, a COSC-certified automatic movement that vibrates at 25,200 vibrations per hour and provides a three-day power reserve. Its high reliability is proudly displayed on the dial side by the five stars in relief. The dial is encircled by a seconds scale that runs along the flange and an hour circle with Arabic numerals covered with Super-LumiNova®. The same luminescent material appears on the baton-type hands and the second hand finished with a diamond or even a red line for the black and blue versions. The date appears at 6 o’clock, not at 3 o’clock as on the other models in the Spirit collection.
