SUMMERTIME SPIRIT
The watch collection which reiterates the codes which made the iconic Big Bang such a success and showcased in a “tonneau” shape welcomes four newcomers adorned with pastel ceramic and diamonds on-board
As its name Spirit of Big Bang states ever-so well, the model follows in the stylistic-code footsteps of the world-famous Big Bang. In other words, a little “spiritual” sibling, yet in no way bashful or unobtrusive as it center stages its own strong identity embodied particularly well through its tonneau silhouette. As summertime arrives with a bang in the Northern hemisphere, Hublot proposes new variations which fir the trend perfectly with their pastel-colored shades.
Although ceramic, acclaimed for its incredible lightness and resistance to scratches as well as fading, is slowly but surely becoming more accessible, the colors Hublot has chosen for these four pieces are pretty much one-of-a-kind: sky blue and blush pink gently caress the 39 mm-diameter case. Family resemblance oblige, the bezel crafted in titanium or King Gold – the Nyon-based brand’s exclusive rose gold alloy – strewn with 50 diamonds is set off with six H screws and framed by two lugs.
Luminescent applique hour indexes encircle the curvaceous dial, which is on a par with the case color, and are hovered over by a pair of openworked hour and minute hands and a direct-drive whose counterpoise boasts the watchmaker’s logo. A white date on a black backdrop features in an aperture at 6 o’clock.
This new Spirit of Big Bang is driven by the HUB1710 caliber, a self-winding movement which beats at a frequency of 4 Hz and delivers a power reserve of 50 hours. It wraps around the wrist with a braid-trimmed sky blue or blush pink alligator strap, lined with white rubber, and attached by a folding clasp.
Price: CHF18,900 (titanium) – CHF22,900 (King Gold) www.hublot.com
