This Spirit of Big Bang Sang Bleu All Black Pavé series pursues the fruitful partnership initiated in 2016 between Hublot and Maxime Plescia-Büchi. This timepiece once again whisks us off to the famous tattoo artist’s really one-of-a-kind graphical world. We discover the somewhat unique tonneau-shaped case, this time round polished, boasting a 42 mm diameter and standing 15.7 mm high, and strewn with 80 black diamonds. The same precious stones, 100 in all, adorn the bezel. “The tattoo made with the black diamonds that decorate the Spirit of Big Bang Sang Bleu All Black Pavé add mesmerizing depth to my bold lines and elaborate shapes”, emphasizes the Swiss artist, who is also Artistic Director of the Sang Bleu magazine. Everything here breathes life into intricately-elegant architecture. What’s more, to create perfect stylistic harmony, the watch is complemented by a matching rubber strap attached by a folding clasp.
The elongated, monochrome case of the iconic model imagined back in 2003, enclosed by a ceramic caseback, plays host to the spectacularly-layered-style mysterious time data scenography. The absence of a dial places the spotlight on the lozenge hour and minute hands, as well as those of the counters. All these features are driven meticulously by the HUB4700 caliber. This selfwinding movement, assembled using some 278 components, provides the chronograph with a power reserve of 50 hours.
