THE TIGER IN THE DIGITAL AGE
The Zurich-based brand is presenting two new limited editions to celebrate the year of the Water Tiger with the values that have characterized it since its beginnings – a bold design, a well-tested mechanism and an affordable price – but this time with a little “digital” touch as well.
2022 is the Year of the Water Tiger, which heralds 12 months of creative achievement under the sign of emotion and attention. This new era, which began on February 1st, is a source of inspiration for watchmakers, as SevenFriday demonstrates. Indeed, the young Zurich-based brand, known for its bold design and affordable prices, is also going after the big cat with two new references called T-Tiger, each limited to 500 pieces.
This duo is composed of the T3/04 GRRRR-EN and the T03/05 GRRRR-ED, the first model in green shades and the second in red. The dial, which plays with the effects of depth thanks to the superposition of 4 layers, has a translucent tinted disc and another one with an openwork design to bring out the head of a roaring tiger released in the middle of the urban jungle. The hours and minutes are displayed by two stylized hands placed in the center pointing to a timer inscribed on a copper-colour circle and white Arabic numerals hemmed in red. This time reading is driven by the Seiko Skeleton TM1 NH70 caliber, an automatic movement that delivers about 40 hours of power reserve and is nestled in the heart of the (almost) square 45×45.6mm steel and black PVD case with rounded corners.
The bonus? The medallion on the back of the case contains an NFC (near-field communication) chip which, via the SevenFriday app, allows access to NFT (non-fungible token) consisting of an authentication certificate and a digital visual creation.
