FOREVER IN THE RACE
After Aquaracer, it’s now the turn of one of the iconic collections, the sporty Carrera, to boast a range of colors. All the versions presented are now powered by the must-of-musts Heuer 02 caliber.
Since this chronograph was launched back in 1963 under the name of Heuer Carrera, it has constantly changed to better capture the spirit of the times. This year, TAG Heuer proposes four novel variations of its Carrera Chronograph 42 mm. Even though the style’s revisited and engineering totally up-to-the-minute, these models are infused with the soul of the original timepiece and its sporty look. As such, on the dial, we discover a somewhat airy time-data layout which ensures highly-comfortable reading. This is enhanced by the luminescent material which adorns the hour and minute hands as well as the tips of the indexes. Two sub-dials set at 9 o’clock and 3 o’clock enable the wearer to keep a check on measured time. They’re assisted by the central direct-drive which hovers over a precise minute tracker. This data is complemented by a small-seconds counter and a date, both set at 6 o’clock.
The 42mm-diameter steel case hosts the high-performing Heuer 02. This automatic movement delivers a generous power reserve of 80 hours. Fans of inner workings can discover, amongst others, its oscillating weight via the sapphire-crystal caseback.
The 4 Carrera Chronograph 42 mm with their opaline black or sunray-brushed blue dials are set off with a stainless steel bracelet with H-shaped links. The angles of the outer and inner links are rounded for a more streamlined effect and the bracelet is slimmer for enhanced wearing-comfort. The silvered version, as well as the anthracite gray one, are worn with a brown alligator strap.
