ELEGANCE AS A HERITAGE
As a tribute to the origins of sports timekeeping, beginning 84 years ago on the snowy slopes of Villars-sur-Ollon, the watch brand is unveiling two references bearing a vintage spirit.

Considered as a practical instrument in numerous situations, the chronograph has for many years been used to determine speeds or the length of a journey. To obtain data directly without the need for calculations, the dials of yesteryear were equipped with scales having a specific graduation. These are the features found on the new Telemeter 1938 watch by Tissot. In the center, in red, a spiral tachymeter scale enables speed to be determined over a precise distance. In black, the second hand in the shape of a blade runs along the timer. On the outer edge of the dial, in blue, a telemetric scale indicates the distance of a phenomenon that is first visible, then audible, such as lightning. The presence of these functions, the small second hand, and the 30-minute counter in the bicompax position, confer a vintage look to this model. This appearance is emphasized on the variation combining a black dial with a beige hour circle and indications.
Within the 42mm diameter steel case, the Valjoux A05.231 caliber controls the measurement of time. Discreet push-buttons built into the case middle enable these functions to be activated. A large, flat, notched crown makes it easy to set the watch. The self-winding movement equipped with a Nivachron® balance spring delivers a power reserve of 68 hours. The Tissot Telemeter 1938 is fitted with a dark or light brown leather wristband depending on the version. Combined with the patina of time, they will enhance the elegant style of this chronograph.
