MAJESTIC IN NATURE
The design created by British illustrator Katie Scott for the Toucans of Paradise silk scarf in 2020 embellishes this limited edition of 24 timepieces, courtesy of fine crafts.
The timeless lines of the Arceau watch, inspired by the creative pencil of Henri d’Origny, continue to be the stage for new and exceptional scenarios. The Arceau Toucan of Paradise presented by Hermès is one such example. Within the 38mm diameter white gold case, easily recognizable by its asymmetrical fasteners, a sublime colored composition brings the timepiece to life. This takes the shape of a bird whose oversized beak is the result of craftsmanship. To achieve this sensational tableau, the dial was first delicately enameled by the company’s craftsmen. Five hundred silk threads in vivid, intense shades were then affixed side by side with extreme precision in order to finalize the climbing bird endemic to the forests of South America. This know-how from the Parisian fashion house is inspired by an ancestral technique of kimono weaving in Japan. This masterful assembly is encircled by a bezel set with 82 diamonds for an elegant highlighting.
The Arceau Toucan of Paradise comes with an elegant zanzibar blue calf leather wristband, a color that ideally extends those of the graphic design.
Within the piece operates the caliber H1912. This self-winding movement powers the hour and minute hands. The sapphire case back allows an unobstructed view of the oscillating weight embellished with the evocative H. This provides the watch with a 50-hour power reserve. Plenty to marvel at all day long.
